Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of services provided by Gati Logistics Pvt. Ltd. ("Gati", "we", "us", "our"). By booking any service with us, you agree to these Terms. Please read carefully.
1. Services
Gati provides packing, moving, transportation (of household goods, office equipment, vehicles), warehousing, and related logistics services across India. Specific services included in your booking are defined in the written Quote/Service Agreement provided after pre-move survey.
2. Booking & quotes
- Initial estimates over phone/website are indicative. Final quote is provided in writing after pre-move survey (in-person or video).
- The quote is valid for 7 days unless otherwise stated.
- Booking is confirmed only on receipt of advance payment (typically 25% of total).
- The Service Agreement (Quote) supersedes any prior verbal or written communication.
3. Payment terms
- Advance: 25% of total quote on booking confirmation
- Balance: payable on completion of delivery
- Accepted methods: UPI, NEFT/RTGS, credit/debit cards, cash (under ₹2 lakh)
- GST (currently 18% on transportation HSN 9968) is payable in addition to quoted amount unless quote explicitly states "GST inclusive"
- For corporate clients, payment terms (Net 15/30) may be agreed in a separate written addendum
- Late payment: 18% per annum interest applies on overdue balances
4. Cancellation & rescheduling
- Cancellation more than 48 hours before move: full refund of advance
- Cancellation 24-48 hours before: 75% refund of advance
- Cancellation less than 24 hours before: no refund (covers crew & vehicle reservation cost)
- Rescheduling once is free with 24+ hours' notice; subsequent reschedules attract a ₹2,000 fee
- If we cancel due to our reasons (vehicle breakdown, crew unavailable), full refund + 5% inconvenience credit toward your next booking
5. Customer responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information during survey (number of items, special handling needs, access constraints)
- Be present (or have an authorised representative present) at both pickup and delivery
- Personally carry valuables: jewellery, cash above ₹50,000, important documents (passport, property papers), and items of high sentimental value. These are NOT covered under transit insurance.
- Defrost refrigerators 24 hours before move; drain washing machines and water purifiers
- Arrange necessary permits — society NOC, parking permits, etc. We assist with documentation but final approval is yours.
- Disclose hazardous, illegal, or restricted items. We will not transport: weapons, drugs, perishables, flammables, gold/silver in unbranded form, live plants/pets, or anything in violation of Indian law.
6. Our obligations
We commit to:
- Arrive at scheduled time (within 30-minute window of confirmed slot)
- Use trained, background-verified crew on Gati payroll
- Use industry-standard packing materials as specified in the quote
- Provide GPS-tracked transport (link shared via SMS/WhatsApp on loading)
- Honour the quoted price — no hidden charges
- Provide tax invoice within 24 hours of delivery completion
7. Insurance & liability
- Standard transit insurance is included as per the package booked (Basic ₹50,000 / Standard ₹2 lakh / Premium ₹5 lakh / Office & Custom: as agreed)
- Insurance covers: damage during loading, transit, and unloading
- Insurance does NOT cover: items not declared, valuables (jewellery/cash), pre-existing damage, items packed by you (unless inspected by our supervisor before loading), acts of God (floods, riots, earthquakes)
- Damage claims must be reported within 48 hours of delivery with photographs
- Maximum liability is capped at the insured value or actual proven cost of repair/replacement, whichever is lower
- We are not liable for consequential losses (business loss, accommodation cost, etc.)
8. Damages and claims
- Report damage in writing (email or app) within 48 hours of delivery
- Provide photos, original purchase receipt where available, and a detailed description
- Our claims team inspects within 7 working days
- Approved claims are settled within 14 working days of approval
- Disputes on claim amount: parties agree to attempt resolution; if unresolved, escalation as per Section 11
9. Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or non-performance caused by events beyond reasonable control: natural disasters, government restrictions, strikes, pandemics, war, civil unrest, road closures, or extreme weather. In such cases, we will reschedule at no additional cost or refund the advance, at your choice.
10. Intellectual property
All content on the Gati website (logo, brand name, text, images, software) is owned by or licensed to Gati Logistics Pvt. Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce, or use without written permission.
11. Dispute resolution
- Step 1: Direct resolution — write to enquiry@gati.com.in. We respond within 7 working days.
- Step 2: Consumer forum — under the Consumer Protection Act 2019, you may approach the appropriate District/State/National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
- Step 3: Arbitration — for commercial disputes above ₹10 lakh, parties agree to single-arbitrator arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996, seated in Mumbai.
- Jurisdiction: Subject to the above, courts at Mumbai have exclusive jurisdiction.
12. Modification of terms
We may update these Terms. Changes are effective 30 days after notice on our website or via email. Bookings already confirmed are governed by the Terms in effect on the booking date.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to exclusive jurisdiction of courts at Mumbai.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
