We understand that plans change. This policy explains when and how you can cancel a confirmed Gati booking, what fees apply, and how cancellations are processed. We've kept it simple and predictable — no fine print designed to trap you.
You can cancel a confirmed booking through any of these channels:
Cancellations are processed in the order received. You'll get a written confirmation (SMS + email) within 30 minutes of your request during business hours.
Fees are calculated from the time we receive your cancellation request to the originally scheduled move/pickup date and time:
| Time before scheduled move | Cancellation fee | Refund |
|---|---|---|
| More than 7 days | ₹0 (free cancellation) | 100% of advance refunded |
| 3–7 days | 10% of advance OR ₹500 (whichever is lower) | Remainder refunded |
| 48 hours – 3 days | 25% of advance | 75% of advance refunded |
| 24–48 hours | 50% of advance | 50% of advance refunded |
| Less than 24 hours | 100% of advance retained | No refund of advance |
| No-show on move day | 100% of advance + ₹2,500 crew dispatch charge | No refund + invoice |
The advance is typically 25% of the total quote. Fees apply only to the advance amount you've paid — the remaining balance was never charged so doesn't enter the calculation.
In rare cases, we may need to cancel or reschedule your booking. This happens for one of these reasons:
If we cancel:
You can reschedule your move at no charge if you give us at least 48 hours notice. Within 48 hours, a small ₹500 rescheduling fee applies to cover crew/vehicle reassignment.
Rescheduling can be done up to 3 times within 30 days of the original date. Beyond that, the booking will be treated as cancelled and re-booked at current rates.
If you booked multiple services together (e.g. house shifting + car transport) and want to cancel just one:
Once we confirm your cancellation, refunds are issued as follows:
You'll receive a refund reference number by email. If your refund is delayed beyond these timeframes, please contact us with the reference number.
If your move is affected by force majeure (natural disaster, government action, war, civil unrest), no cancellation fees apply from either side. Both parties can cancel without penalty.
If your move is affected because you couldn't produce required documentation (society NOC, ID proof, vehicle papers for transport) on the move day, this is treated as a customer-side cancellation per the standard fee schedule above.
If our crew arrives but cannot access your address (gate locked, no permission to enter, etc.), we'll wait up to 2 hours and contact you. After 2 hours of unsuccessful attempts, the move is cancelled with the no-show fee applicable.
If you disagree with a cancellation fee charged to you, write to enquiry@gati.com.in within 30 days with your booking ID. We'll review the case and respond within 7 working days. Most cancellation disputes are resolved by reviewing call recordings and SMS timestamps.
If unresolved, the dispute resolution process in our Terms and Conditions applies.
