Gati Logistics Pvt. Ltd. ("Gati", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our website (gati.com), mobile app, or services.
By using our services, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use our services. We're a registered company under the Companies Act 2013, regulated by Indian law including the Information Technology Act 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you give us
- Contact details: name, mobile number, email, current and destination addresses
- Move details: home size, list of items, special requirements, photos you may upload during video survey
- Payment information: billing address; we don't store full card numbers (handled by our PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway partners)
- Communication: chat messages, call recordings (with your consent for quality), feedback forms, survey responses
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers
- Usage data: pages visited, time spent, click patterns (via analytics tools)
- Location data: approximate location based on IP; precise location only with explicit consent (e.g., when sharing live location for crew dispatch)
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)
2. How we use your information
- Provide our services: schedule moves, dispatch crews, track shipments, process payments
- Communicate with you: confirmations, updates, support, surveys, important policy changes
- Improve our services: analyse usage patterns, fix bugs, develop new features
- Send marketing communications (with your consent; opt-out anytime)
- Comply with legal obligations: GST filing, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, regulatory inquiries
- Protect our rights: investigate suspicious activity, enforce our terms
3. Who we share your information with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Our crew and partners: Driver, supervisor, and warehouse staff need your address and phone for service delivery
- Service providers: Payment gateway (Razorpay, PayU), SMS provider (MSG91), email provider (SendGrid), analytics (Google Analytics) — all under strict data processing agreements
- Insurance partners: For claim processing if a claim is filed
- Legal authorities: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety
- Business transfers: If Gati is acquired or merged, with appropriate notice to you
4. How long we keep your data
- Active customer data: kept as long as you are an active customer
- Inactive customer data: kept for 7 years after last interaction (for GST and dispute resolution requirements)
- Marketing data: kept until you opt out or 3 years of inactivity, whichever is earlier
- Call recordings: 90 days unless flagged for quality review
5. Your rights
Under Indian data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data we hold
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications
- File a grievance with our Data Protection Officer (details below)
- File a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India

6. Security
We use industry-standard security: TLS 1.3 encryption for all data in transit, AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest, role-based access controls, regular security audits, and annual VAPT (Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing). However, no system is 100% secure. If we ever suffer a data breach affecting you, we'll notify you within 72 hours as required by law.
7. Cookies
We use cookies for: essential site functions (login, cart), analytics (Google Analytics — anonymised), and marketing (Facebook Pixel, Google Ads — only with consent via cookie banner). You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not work properly.
8. Children's privacy
Our services are intended for users 18 and above. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it immediately.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent website notice 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
